Addressing the Special Needs of Veterans at End of Life
Thank you for your desire to learn more about our veterans and their needs at end of life. The five videos found here were supported by a grant from the US Veteran’s Administration in a program called Reaching Out. We thank the VA for their financial support.
The purpose of these educational videos is:
To improve outreach to homeless and rural veterans in need of palliative and hospice care
To educate and sensitize first responders, health care providers, and homeless shelter staff to the special needs of veterans, especially rural and homeless veterans at end-of-life
To give program participants the tools to connect veterans who need end-of-life care
To educate program participants on the referral process for hospice and palliative care and for the homeless program at the Veterans Administration
There are five educational modules. You need only complete 3 of the 5 modules depending on your interest or professional affiliation. All professionals should view modules 1 and 5, and select at least one module, 2 through 4, according to your current interest or position. Thank you for your interest in serving the needs of our veterans at end of life.
